阳极为铝，阴极为电解液的电容，其正式名称是铝电解电容器，因为有液态存在，所以被称为“液态”电容。

　　理论上，或非商品的铝电解电容并不需要额外的负极板，只要将负极引线插入电解液就行了。但作为实际产品，加一层铝箔作为电解液的引导，方面链接，因为也是与正极板类似的铝箔，所以常被误解为负极板。

　　电解液电容也有其不足处：

　　首先是在高温环境下容易挥发、渗漏、对寿命和稳定性影响很大，在高温高压下的电解液还有可能瞬间汽化，体积增大引起爆炸；

　　其次是电解液所采用的离子导电法其导电率很低，只有0.01S/CM（电导率，欧姆的倒数），这造成电容的ESR值（等效串联电阻、阻抗）特别高。

　　Secondly, the ionic conductivity method used in the electrolyte is very low, only 0.01s/cm (the reciprocal of conductivity and Ohm), which makes the ESR value of capacitance (equivalent series resistance and impedance) extremely high.
